CaribWorldNews, NEW YORK, NY, Weds. April 29, 2009: Guyana opposition leader, Robert Corbin, was late yesterday released from a New York hospital, reliable sources tell CaribWorldNews.
Sources last night told CWNN that the Peoples National Congress Reform leader was discharged last evening from the St. Francis Hospital`s heart center in Long Island. He was reported in stable condition, according to a source.
Corbin, 61, was admitted to the Woodland Hospital Saturday after experiencing a sudden discomfort in his chest while driving. He was later taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital before being flown to New York for treatment for what is believed to be angina.
In a brief statement Saturday, the PNCR confirmed that Corbin had been hospitalized after complaining of feeling unwell. It added that his condition was being evaluated to determine a treatment option.
Corbin has been criticized over his leadership of the PNCR in recent months.
